Retired Sergeant of the RCMP

Peacefully, surrounded by his entire family, on October 9, 2019, 4 days short of his 71st birthday. Now reunited with his loving mother Jenny (Anderson) who predeceased him when he was 7 years old.  Also predeceased by his father Clair.  Fondly remembered by his beloved wife Agnes of 44 years. Proud dad of Andrea (Luc) and Ryan (Katie). Adored grampa to the loves of his life, Tristan and Logan. Loving brother of Barb (late Jack), Darrell (Sylvia), and twin sister Deb (Greg). Also to mourn his loss are sisters in law Hazel (late Jack), Mary (late Frank), Pearl (Cecil), Alita, and brother in law Paul. Also numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends and Family are invited to visit Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery, & Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Tuesday, October 15, 2019 from 2 to 4:00 PM and from 6 to 8:00 PM. A Funeral Service will be held in the Sacred Space of Beechwood on Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at 11:00 AM. Burial to follow in the RCMP National Memorial Cemetery of Beechwood.

In lieu of flowers, in memoriam donations to the Canadian Veteran Service Dog Unit – Training of PTSD Service Dogs would be appreciated (cvsdu.ca).

Our sincere condolences to Agnes, Andrea, Ryan and the whole family. I heard many stories about his chipmunk feeding, his trips to Trader Joe’s and his love of making his grandsons’ packed lunches. He was a trooper and fought a tough battle with serenity and hope. RIP dear Grampa xx

We are sad to hear of the passing of Del. I will miss his hellos when I walked by on the morning trek, him standing in the garage or front porch with his morning coffee or retrieving the empty recycle bins of his neighbours. Our thoughts and prayers are with you Agnes and your family.
