It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Christopher "Chris" in hospital after complications of Guillain-Barré Syndrome. Chris passed away in hospital in Florida, on December 18, 2022 at 78 years of age with his wife Marguerite by his side.
Born in England August 29, 1944, youngest son of the late Rose Lilian Finch and the late Fredrick George T. Fox. Much loved husband of Marguerite (Lascelles) for 38 years. He will be fondly remembered by his brother-in-law Eugene Lascelles (Lillian), his niece Maryellen Benson (Jamie) and nephew Eugene Jr. Lascelles.
Dear brother of Les Fox, predeceased by his sister Gladys Wilson, brothers Fred and Ron Fox. Chris will be fondly remembered by his nieces, Carol Stanzel (Fred), Janice Rathwell (Brian), Brenda White (Carl), five great-nieces and two great-nephews.
Immigrating to Canada in 1967 Chris completed his education at Ottawa University, graduating in 1981 as an Electrical Engineer. He ventured into business as President and CEO of his Consulting Engineering firm (Fox Engineering) May 1983 to April 2011. April 2011 to January 2016 he joined CIMA+ (engineering) as a Managing Partner.
After his retirement, Chris embarked into the "world of words" producing thirteen action-adventure novels, well received under his name- Christopher Fox. He kept busy with hobbies which included golfing at Camelot for over 30 years, boating, fishing, and his passion with fast cars. He was a founding member of the FCA Ottawa Ferrari Club and always looked forward to the Ferrari festival held in Ottawa each year. Chris was fearless, addressing every activity as an adventure. He will be sadly missed by his many friends.
We are extremely grateful for the support provided by so many loving compassionate friends during this difficult time.
A Celebration of Life ceremony will be held at Beechwood, Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Wednesday, May 3, 2023 at 10 a.m.
In lieu of flowers, a memorial contribution to the University of Ottawa Heart Institute Foundation or The Salvation Army would be appreciated.
