In loving memory of Natasha Sita Anderson (Perera), born on September 16, 1977, we celebrate her life and mourn her passing on February 1st, 2024, surrounded by her family after being suddenly hospitalized and overwhelmed by a rapid onset and inexplicable physical illness. Natasha was a compassionate soul, radiating unwavering love and empathy for all.

Though her life was taken from us, her beautiful soul is everlasting. Natasha found solace in her friends and family, both in person and in her virtual community. An avid reader, she immersed herself in the world of literature. Natasha was an ardent advocate for the underdog, dedicating her efforts to equity and fairness in all her pursuits.

She leaves behind a cherished legacy embraced by her beloved family: husband Mark, children Lena (11) and Makai (8), brother Hershel, sister-in-law Julie, and nephews Krish and Aary. Her parents, Asha (Sam) and Hiran (Lizzy), were integral parts of her life, each contributing to the extraordinary spirit she embodied. In addition, her extended family, including loving aunts, uncles, and cousins, played pivotal roles in shaping the rich tapestry of her life.

Natasha's friendships stood as a testament to her generous spirit and genuine care for others. Her friends were not just companions but her chosen family, each holding a special place in her heart, forging bonds that transcended mere friendship.

As a heartfelt tribute to Natasha, we kindly request that you play "Adore" by Prince on your own time—a song that beautifully encapsulates the enduring beauty and love she brought into our lives.

Friends are invited to gather at the Sacred Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa on Friday, February 9th, after 12noon. A celebration of Natasha's Life will be held at 1 p.m. followed by a reception in her honor.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation in Natasha's name to the Canadian Children's Literacy Foundation.

As we bid farewell to her physical presence, let us carry forward her legacy of love, kindness, and joy. Though she may be absent in body, her spirit will forever live on in the hearts of those fortunate enough to have known her.

Dear Natasha, I am so thankful to have had you in our lives. Your kindness and compassion were some of your attributes that forged a great memory in my heart. Micah always said to me "Natasha is full of energy and she is so funny" Micah wants you to know that "he will support his best friend Makai" in his words. You have touched our lives in many ways. I want you to know that we promise you to be there for the kids and Mark whenever they need us. You are missed beyond words can explain. What an amazing soul you are. I say "you are" because I know you will live on forever in the hearts of those that were near and dear to you. I will miss our chats every morning. They were always so energizing. Rest in peace beautiful soul!

Now that you are a ray of sunshine, beaming down on us, I will look upwards and send you a warm, loving smile, praying that you are comfortable and at peace. As my little cousin Sonia's dear friend, you became, by extension, my little sister too. Some truly fun and wonderful times spent with you 'spice girls'! I send your family prayers, strength, white light and any healing energy that is within my capabilities to help through this period. May your parents, Hershal, Mark, Lena and Makai and your extended family find joy in celebrating your life and in cherishing every memory made. From across the seas, sitting in Dubai, I will always remember you with abundant love! Om Shanti/Amen/Ameen

Memories are what we treasure and cling to.....Natasha's mum Asha is my childhood friend, sharing so much of our lives growing up. When Natasha was born, my son, Rom wanted to see a brand new baby....so we did. I was nervous as he wanted to touch her, kiss her but she was too new ! May you rest in eternal peace beautiful Natasha, and as you were the bright star in your family, we know you will shine for all of us who knew you.

Natasha, we connected online through our shared love of books but our connection grew to mean so much more to me. You were the most caring, empathetic, honest, genuine soul I know and your vibrant energy was all I needed to get me in a better mood. Natasha never failed to help and support when needed, even from hundreds of miles away. Rest well my love, rest well. You have left a legacy here and we will continue to honor your name and memory forever.

Hiran and Asha were family friends we've known for many years. I met Natasha when she was only a few months old, when Asha and Hiran brought her to Nuwara Eliya. Met her again much later when she was all grown up and came to spend sometime in Sri Lanka. She had turned out to be a lovely young lass friendly and very affectionate. I am sure she will be dearly missed by all her loved ones. Rest in Peace dear one.

Asha , Natashas mom is a close friend for nearly 20 year's and so I met Natasha a few times and attended her wedding...it was such a lovely day and she looked gorgeous in her white outfit.
Over the years I heard all about what's happening in Natashas life and only good deeds is what she was always doing ...she was giver in everyway from all the conversations that were narrated to me.
Natasha I am sure you are sending good vibes and more from up above to all your loved ones...as giving was always your thing.....see you on the otherside someday...until then cheers. RIP.....and to rest of the fam .....HUGSS

My darling Natasha, you have played a truly divine role in my life so I suppose it’s only fitting that you are now an angel to watch over all of us. I will always be heartbroken over your sudden passing but I am so incredibly grateful to have known you and loved you. And to have been known and loved by you in return. I will carry you in my heart for the rest of my life. And I will keep your family in my prayers every single day. Until we meet again my dear friend.
