It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Suzanne Monique Bilodeau on April 14, 2024.

She was the daughter of the late Cécile Gélinas and the late Donatien Laviolette. Predeceased by her elder sister Andrée Logan, she is survived by her husband Ronald Bilodeau, her children, Annick Bilodeau, Catherine Amiot, Valérie Bilodeau (Peter Kadar), Alexandre Bilodeau (Laura Giannantonio), as well as 6 grandchildren: Frédérique Lalonde (Greg Boychuk), Virginie Lalonde, Justin Lalonde, Olivier Amiot, Zachary Amiot, William Amiot, her sister Lise Laviolette, her brother-in-law Marc Vézina, her nieces Caroline Vézina and Maxine Vézina, and since April 12, her great-niece Stella born to Caroline and her partner Vincent Cutillas. She also leaves behind cousins and numerous friends.

Suzanne, a registered nurse from Hôtel Dieu de Montréal, had a career at Hôpital Montfort from 1968 to 1995. Her priority in life was her family, her children, and later her grandchildren, who brought her boundless joy and to whom she dedicated herself wholeheartedly. Her love of travel, particularly cruises with family, brought her great happiness.

More recently, although her illness had compromised her quality of life, her love and dedication to her family remained unchanged.

A celebration of her life will be held at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, Ontario, on Saturday, May 11 at 3 p.m.

The burial, held in the intimacy of the family, will precede the gathering.

Donations can be made to Hôpital Montfort in Ottawa or to The Ottawa Hospital, where the medical staff provided her with excellent care.
