Marion Challinor (nee Hushard)

Marion Challinor (nee Hushard) was born on the 13th of April 1932 in Halifax to Hartley and Edith Hushard. She passed away peacefully on the 10th of July 2025 at the Perley Health Care Centre in Ottawa.  

Marion was the loving and adoring wife of Anthony for over 67 years. She was also the loving mother to their son Stephen Challinor and mother-in-law to the late Carla Sovran.  She delighted in her grandson’s; Mark (Caitlin) and Ryan (Brianna) and she was always there for them.   She also took great joy in her great grandchildren; Keeler, Brynn, Hudson, Ollie, Callum and Donovan. 

Marion was a warm, energetic and loving person who truly cherished life and brought joy and happiness to friends and family. With a twinkle in her eye and a smile on her face she naturally charmed others and made everyone she met feel special and important.   A true Maritimer at heart, she loved the smell of the ocean and especially enjoyed watching and listening to the surf at Lawrence Town Beach NS. 

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff of Perley Health for all their support and the compassionate care that Marion was given over the past few years. 

 A private family Celebration of Life will be held in Marion’s honour.
