It is with sadness that we announce the passing of Carol Louise Nixon, who died peacefully in Ottawa on September 1, 2025, at the age of 80.
Born to Louise and Walter Haak, Carol was twice widowed, first by her husband Royal Montpetit and later by her husband Bill Nixon. She was a mother to Wally (Cathy) Montpetit and Roy (Doris) Montpetit, and a proud grandmother to Sara, Andrea, Emily, Dan, and Vanessa. Carol’s joy grew even greater as a great-grandmother to Maddie, Hazel, Elena, and Greyson. She is also survived by her sister Gloria (Gordon) and was predeceased by her sister Darlene.
She was a passionate volunteer and an avid reader throughout her life.

Carol was a dedicated volunteer and warm hearted patron of the Rideau branch of the Ottawa Public Library. I have fond memories of her time amongst us whether it being getting books or remembering staff birthdays.
