It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Jeannette May Lacey (née Webber) on August 30, 2025 in Ottawa, Ontario at the age of 80.

Jeannette was predeceased by her parents, two brothers, and her loving husband, Ron Lacey, and will be greatly missed by her children, Laurel (Nathalie) and Toby.

Jeannette was born to parents Arthur and Kathleen Webber, in Toronto, Ontario, where she met her soulmate, Ron. She soon became a proud military wife and mother and lived in various parts of the world including Grande Prairie, Alberta, Comox, B.C., Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, Lahr, Germany, Bath, Ontario, and finally, Orléans, Ontario. Jeannette was a talented painter who also had a love for cross stitching, but most important to her was her family. She will be remembered for her kindness and her wicked sense of humour.

At Jeannette's request, there will not be a service but a private graveside ceremony on October 10, 2025.

In lieu of flowers, the Lacey family would be grateful for donations to the Dementia Society of Ottawa and Renfrew County or to Diabetes Canada.

Mireille and I were close friends with Jeanette.
We knew one another for many years!
In addition to being good neighbours in Bath, ON we spent many years as snowbirds in Myrtle Beach, SC.
While Ron and I golfed, Jeanette and Mireille painted, shopped and gabbed for many hours!

Jeanette had a fantastic sense of humour!

Jeanette will be sorely missed!
May she rest in peace!

Our most sincere condolences to Laurel, Toby and Nathalie!

My beautiful cousin, Jeannette, may have left us in body, but not in spirit.
She will never be forgotten.
She was like another sister to me and she called me the "sister she never had".
We shared so many experiences growing up together and being the same age. To be her bridesmaid when she and Ron wed, was so very special.
A favourite memory is that as brave 18 year olds, we went by bus to New York City! We toured everywhere from the Bowery to Coney Island. We even managed the subway system and she dealt with an aggressive taxi driver in her own inimitable style. We laughed over that years later.
Jeannette was so proud of her two children Laurel and Toby and her total love for Ron was evident in everything they did and shared. My deepest sympathies to Laurel and Nat and Toby.
Like them, I will miss my dear Jeannette and she'll remain in my memory forever and always.
Love,
Hazel

Jeannette was kind & thoughtful with a great sense of humour. We were so lucky to have her and of course Ron as our neighbours and friends.
