Gerald Winston Hibberd passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Civic hospital on Sunday October 5. Gerald was a merchant seaman during the second world war, and was very proud of his military service. He spent most of his working life as a passenger service supervisor for Air Canada. He was also a musician. He played piano, organ, accordion, as well as singing in various church choirs his entire life. He enjoyed classical music, church hymns, and Gilbert & Sullivan operettas.
Husband of Doris Hibberd. Father of Nora-Jean, Leslie, Timothy, and Stephen. Grandfather of Jessica, Lisa(Damien), Jeffrey(Edain), Stephen(Norie), Leanne(Kaytlyn), Dana, and Rylee. Great-Grandfather of Elliot, Melanie, Olive, Cassius, Jack, Alice, Matteo, Riley and Kaleb.
He will be missed by all of us. His outgoing personality, his quirky sense of humour, willingness and desire to chat with anybody, and his positive outlook on life. He gave all for his family, and we love him for that.
So sorry to hear of your loss. Our thoughts and prayers are with you in this difficult time. Please accept our sincere condolences. RIP.
