Born in 1935 in Feltham, England, the daughter of Henry (Harry) George Brunt and Nora Mary Harris, died on Sunday 5 October in Ottawa, Ontario. Pam is survived by her niece and nephews in the UK, Sara Brunt, Graham Brunt and Keith Brunt.
Pam was a district Nurse in London England before seeking adventure and better prospects by enlisting in 1967 in the Royal Canadian Navy as a military Nurse. While serving with the Navy for 25 years she was based across Canada with postings from Masset, British Columbia to Halifax, Nova Scotia before settling in Ottawa. After retirement from the Navy, she became a researcher with the military’s Directorate of History, a Friend of the Central Experimental Farm and a Friend of the Canadian War Museum, where she was part of the Friends mail-out team for years and a volunteer with the Canadian War Museum’s archival collection for 30 years. Pam had many interests in life, from crafting and gardening to movies and fast cars (she would have loved to have owned a Mustang), had a lifelong love of learning and reading and animals, having owned many cats over her life.
Pam will be dearly missed by her friends. A graveside service will be held Monday 20 October 2025 at the National Military Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave. at 2pm. No flowers please as Pam preferred her flowers to be planted and not cut. For those wishing to donate in her name please consider the Ottawa Humane Society, or the Friends of the Canadian War Museum.

Pam was a dear friend of my late Mom, Jeannette Traynor. Both nurses, they met in the mid-60s in Camp Petawawa. (Pam did have a Mustang - it was red.) Pam gave us our budgie Monty when we moved to Ottawa in 1969. She was a dedicated cat lover. She passed away just one week after my Mom. Rest in peace, Pam.
