It is with profound sadness we announce the passing of Gil Desrivieres on February 29, 2026, at the age of 97. Gil will be sadly missed by his beloved wife Shirley of 68 years. He will also be missed by his cherished children Kenneth, Robert, and his adopted children Karen and Pete. Also left to mourn are his dear grandchildren Christopher (Chloe), Cassandra (Mario); and his siblings Roger (Eileen) and many nieces and nephews.
Gil is predeceased by his sisters Theresa, Alice, and Pauline.
Gil was very proud of his sons, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He was loved by all his wonderful neighbours and friends.
Friends and family are invited to Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery, and Cremation Services, 280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa, Ontario, on May 16th, 2026 for a visitation (9-10am), followed by a funeral service (10am -11am), Internment, and reception from (11am-1pm)
