Ernest Edward Boutilier (Boots)
Sunrise: November 17, 1933, Springhill, NS - Sunset: May 17, 2022, Ottawa, ON
On a rainy spring afternoon the sun broke through the clouds and Boots Boutilier was peacefully liberated to the skies. He was surrounded with the love of his family.
Boots was in his 89th year and lived a remarkable life. Born in Springhill Nova Scotia, he served in the Canadian Forces with the United Nations Peacekeepers proudly performing duty for Canada in the Middle East and later Vietnam. After retirement from the military, he enjoyed a second career as a special constable of the RCMP and was assigned the undertaking of protecting our Prime Ministers and Governor General.
In his final days Boots was a brave man who faced the struggles of his recent illness with courage and dignity. He cherished every moment with his family and friends. Boots was predeceased by his loving partner Marie Drouin.
Thank you for the loving support from Cité Parkway and Perley Health. A celebration of life will be announced at Beechwood, Ottawa in the future.
