Passed away peacefully on December 5th, 2024 at the age of 83. Frank leaves behind his spouse of 30 years, Marie Quirouette. He will be dearly missed by his children, Cheryl (Kevin), David (Karine) and Don (Sarah), stepson Stephane and grandchildren, Melissa (Morgan), Kelsey (Seb), Mackenzie (Noah) Johnnie (Myriam), Keegan (Nicole) and Liam (Brianna). He will be fondly remembered by his great-grandchildren L.J and Elizabeth.
Frank was predeceased by his beloved granddaughter, Madison Hunt and sister Emily Schellhorn.
Frank had a Distinguished career in the Canadian Armed Forces for 38 years. There he made many friends as he travelled across Canada and the United States. He always left a lasting impression where ever he went.
He was always helping people and for many years he volunteered as the coach of A Developmentally Delayed Hockey Team in Ottawa (The Ambassadors) He had patience like no other and always took the time no matter what it entailed.
Many will remember Frank as always laughing and telling jokes and always lending a helping hand wherever he could.
He was an avid hockey fan of the Montreal Canadians and always made that known to everyone. If you were not a Canadians fan then you had better be prepared to listen to him give you a hard time and he often did
His children and grandchildren were his pride and joy and he showed that everyday and in everything he did or said. They will all miss him dearly as there was no one like GRANDPA.
Frank would not want anyone to be sad and dwell on his passing but to go out and live life as he did. Live each day as if it were your last and always always be kind to everyone you meet. Generosity was his motto and that’s what he would want his legacy to be.
Family and friends are invited to a Celebration of Life on Wednesday, December 18th, 2024 from 10:30 to 12:30 at Beechwood Cemetery (280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa, ON). In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to The Ottawa Heart Institute or The Ottawa Chapter of the Canadian Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.

It was my worst moment when I heard of Frank's passing. He was one of my best friends and we kept in touch almost daily for many years. Over the years, Jeanie and I spent a great deal of time with Frank and Marie especially when in Florida during the winter months. I will forever miss our almost every day conversations discussing many things of mutual interest but mostly, hockey and baseball. I will have so many memories of the favors Frank has done, the happy moments that we shared the laughter and the fun. The many little special things that only Frank could have done, I will cherish all those memories from daylight to the setting of the sun.

I will miss Frank's humour and many stories of his time in the Forces during our lunches at the Legion and weekly coffee breaks. He is now enjoying his reward for a life well lived. May God bring comfort to Marie and his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. RIP Frank.
