It is with tremendous sadness that the family of Mélanie Delorme (née Prud’homme) announces her sudden passing on June 30, 2025, at the age of 31.

Born on June 25th, 1994 in Ottawa, Melanie exuded joy, beauty and strength and shared her love of life with all those around her. She was the beloved wife of Maxime and the devoted, proud mother of Élodie and Nathan.

Mélanie was happiest at home with her children—whether laughing over a game of cards or expressing her creativity through arts and crafts. Her family, and especially her children, were her reason for living. Music filled her heart, and her kindness lit up every room she entered.

She will be lovingly missed by her husband Maxime, her children Élodie and Nathan, her mother Diane, her brother Mathieu (April), her sister Karine (Éric), her brother-in-law Frédérick (Marie-France), and her nieces and nephews Olivier, Emmanuel, William, Naomie, and Emma. She is reunited in peace with her dearly loved father, Patrice.

We shall never forget her immense heart, her gentleness, and her unshakeable strength of character. Mélanie was always the first to offer help, and the last to ask for it. She lived with compassion, generosity, and a profound love for those around her.

Gone far too soon, Mélanie will live on forever in the hearts of those who had the privilege of knowing her. She will be deeply missed, always loved and never forgotten.

Visitations will be held at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa, on Friday, July 18, 2025, from 3:00 to 5:00 p.m. and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m., and on Saturday, July 19, starting at 9:00 a.m. A memorial service will follow in the Sacred Space of Beechwood at 10:00 a.m.

Messages of sympathy may be expressed through the sending of flowers

I was deeply saddened to hear about Melanie’s passing. Though it’s been many years since I last saw her, I still remember her as a bright, joyful child with a beautiful, fearless and loving spirit. She brought light, laughter and warmth everywhere she went. It’s heartbreaking to know that her life was cut so short and that she leaves behind her own dear children at such young ages. Sending my heartfelt condolences to all of Melanie's family, but especially Diane, during this incredibly difficult time.
