Elizabeth passed away peacefully at the age of 88 on Saturday, August 16, 2025, at Portobello Retirement Residence in Ottawa.
Born in London, England, to the late Thomas and Charlotte (Hetherington) Fitch, Elizabeth emigrated to Ottawa in 1967. In 1975, she married Andrew Thomson and began a new chapter as a military wife. Their journey took them to postings in Lahr, Germany, followed by Borden, Calgary, Montreal, and finally back to Ottawa in 1986, where they settled.
Elizabeth was the beloved mother of Catherine (Scott), and cherished stepmother of June (Neal). She was a devoted and loving Nana to Ewan, Courtney, and Meghan.

At Elizabeth’s request a Private Interment will be held at Beechwood Cemetery.
