It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of Richard Fung, M. Eng., in Mississauga, Ontario, on Thursday, August 14, 2025.

Beloved brother of Felix, Ivy, Grace and Louisa; cherished uncle of Clement, Abby, Martin, Meagan, Pui-Yin, Pui-Kwan, Pui-Ching, Pui-Wah, Irene, and Lester; and adored great-uncle of Zia and Theo.

Richard found happiness in spending time with family and friends, travelling, attending grand operas and enjoying culinary experiences. Richard will be remembered for his kind smile, generosity, love of family, and appreciation for learning and education.

Friends are invited to visit with his family from 9:00 a.m. on Saturday, August 23, followed by a funeral service at 10:00 a.m. at the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa. Interment will follow at Beechwood.

In lieu of flowers, you may consider making a donation to Trillium Health Partners Mississauga Hospital in Richard’s memory.

I have a lot of fond memories of Uncle Richard. He was a wonderful uncle; always ready to teach something, and generous with his time. He will be greatly missed and forever loved.

I knew Richard when he was a teenager, watched him grow into a kind, gentle and well educated person. The world has lost another good soul. Richard will be missed by all who know him. Rest in peace Richard.

Dear Uncle Richard,
You were a man of principle, and discipline, but beneath the seriousness, there was also humour and warmth. I appreciated the time that we spent together and I will always remember you with respect, affection, and gratitude. I will miss you. May you rest in peace.

We are deeply heartbroken to hear of Richard’s passing. He was not only a long-time customer but also someone whose conversations and stories always left us smiling, often with a lesson hidden inside. His kindness and wisdom will be greatly missed.
