Our patriarch, André Claude Pascal, born in France June 29 1931, passed away July 26, 2025, at May Court Hospice in Ottawa. He succumbed to cancer less than a month avec having joyfully celebrating his 94th birthday with us.

Born in a village named Lorette in France, André had a flourishing career with the Government of Canada, which he represented with great pride as Senior Trade Commissioner at Global Affairs Canada. He was also an avid lover of classical music and nature.

Once retired from public service, he volunteered for many years at the Alumni Association of the Heart Institute of the University of Ottawa where he had himself been treated by Dr. Michel LeMay who saved his life twice since 1998.

He leaves behind the love of his life, his wife Annick with whom he shared 67 years of married life, his children Sophie and Eric, and five grandchildren, Troy, Lia, Alec, Simone, and Michael.

A devoted husband and father, André was appreciated by all who knew him. He will be remembered especially for his intellect, tenacity, and sense of humour. We are grateful that he was a part of our lives all these years. Though he is sorely missed, he remains alive in our hearts and minds.

The family would like to thank the entire medical team who treated André at the Ottawa General Hospital, particularly his cardiologist Dr. Le May, as well as the team of oncologists, Dr. Amjadi, and most recently Dr. Wheatley Price.

We would like to extend our heartfelt gratitude to the team of home care professionals at Bayshore and to the palliative care team, especially Dr. Regine Krechowicz for her profound understanding and genuine empathy with regard to André, and to May Court Hospice for caring for him with such rare, perfect humanity.

In lieu of flowers, please consider a donation to the Ottawa Hospital Heart Institute and/or Cancer Research, and the May Court Hospice.

The funeral ceremony will be held on September 5th, 2025, at Notre Dame Cathedral, 385 Sussex Drive, in Ottawa at 10:00 am.  A reception will follow.
