On September 11, 2025, Anne Boucher (née Basigin) passed away peacefully at home.

Born in Struan, Saskatchewan, Anne bravely left home to join the Royal Canadian Air Force at age 19. Her service took her to France, where she met her future husband, George. Together, they built a family and lived in cities across Canada before settling in Ottawa in 1973.

Anne was a woman of quiet strength and boundless generosity. She supported her children, Carol (Georges Sarazin), Debbie (Patrick Adams), and Randy, in every endeavour, and loved to spoil her grandchildren, Nicholas, Kelly, David, Daniel, and Lisa, with homemade baking and thoughtful gifts. Her great-grandchildren, Anna, Carter, Nora, and Aria, brought her endless smiles.

Anne was predeceased by her beloved husband of 62 years, George, and son-in-law, Georges.

Known for her knitting, Anne’s signature mittens warmed the hands and hearts of friends, family, and staff at her retirement home. She enjoyed a long, healthy life surrounded by those who adored her. Anne will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered.

The family would like to thank the dedicated staff at Symphony Senior Living in Orleans, including Brenda, Heather, Danielle, and Lucie, for the care they provided Anne. A private family interment will be held at the National Military Cemetery of the Canadian Forces.

Aunt Anne and Uncle George were always so kind to me. I remember over 40 years ago calling them from the Ottawa Airport and saying “remember when you said I could visit anytime, well I am at the airport and need a ride” they picked me up and brought me into the family Grey Cup celebration. I don’t re her who won the game or who was playing, but I won the pool. I will miss both of them.

Dear Randy, I was so sorry to hear about your beloved Mom’s passing. By all accounts, she lived a remarkable life, including joining the RCAF as a young woman, meeting and marrying your Dad in Metz, and building a beautiful family together.

Losing a parent is always so profoundly difficult, and I hope you can take some comfort in the memories of your mother’s strength, kindness, resilience, and the life she and your Dad built for you and your siblings.

My thoughts are with you and your extended family during this difficult time. Maryse and Eric join me in offering our most sincere condolences.
