Mrs Elizabeth Louise Foulds (née Bonhomme) left this world of natural causes at the age of 90 years while in her home on August 16, 2025.  She is survived by her two Children, Gary C. Foulds and Cynthia L. Foulds, her Grand Daughter Kaitlyn Purcell (née Foulds), her Great Grand children Heidi, Holly and Hudson Purcell, her ex husband Garth C. Foulds, three of her seven siblings, Claire Gougeon  (née Bonhomme) , Hélène Boudreault (née Bonhomme) and Jacques Bonhomme as well as a multitude of nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her Parents, Romeo Bonhomme and Laurette Bonhomme (née Richer) and four of her seven siblings, Carmen Poulin (née Bonhomme), Paul Bonhomme, Andre Bonhomme, Gilles Bonhomme and her second husband Fern.

Born in 1935 during a time of economic uncertainty and, growing up during WWll and the Korean War, forged our Mother into a strong and resilient woman.  In 1953, women not having the options they do today, she got married and had two children. Fast forward to 1970, now a single Mother, she went back to school taking night courses while holding down 2 part time jobs during the day in an effort to attain the credentials to reach a goal that would not be available to women until 1974.  When the first group of women were enlisted to join the RCMP as Constables began their training in Regina Sask,  E.L. Foulds was among them. Pioneers in their own right, not only did they have to go through the same training as the men,  they had to do twice as well to be accepted as equals. During her 12 years of service in the RCMP's Protective Policing Program, she was responsible for protecting the Royal Family (when in Canada), the Governor General and the Prime Minister as well as the security for domestic and foreign VIPs when in the Nation's Capital.  After an injury sustained during her training in 1974 forced her into retirement in 1987, she continued to try and make a difference through volunteering where ever and whenever she could. We are very proud of our Mother's strength of character, her drive and her many accomplishments during her lifetime.

At the request of our Mother, a private immediate family only interment will be held.

In honor of E.L. Foulds' memory, the family encourages donations to The Ottawa Mission, a cause near and dear to her.  You can send your donation by cheque via Canada Post to The Ottawa Mission Donations 46 Daly Ave, Ottawa Ont, K1N 6E4 or, electronically via their website The Ottawa Mission where you can dedicate your donation to our Mom if you wish.

I am heart broken. Aunt Louise was a pillar of support for me when my Mom (Carmen) was having difficulties. You are missed. I hope my cousins, Gary and Cynthia have all the support they need during this difficult time.

Much Love,
James

It is with deep sadness to hear the passing of our dear family friend, Elizabeth Louise, who left us peacefully on August 16th, 2025. A graceful soul with a warm heart and a sharp wit, she touched the lives of everyone who had the privilege of knowing her. Elizabeth Louise was more than a friend—she was a confidante, a source of wisdom, and a steady presence through life’s ups and downs. Her kindness, laughter, and unwavering spirit will be remembered fondly and missed dearly. She leaves behind a legacy of compassion, resilience, and love. May her memory continue to inspire us, and may she rest in eternal peace.
With love and remembrance,
Vijay family
