With heavy hearts, the family announces the peaceful passing of Claude Arbour, age 90, at Saint-Vincent Hospital in Ottawa on November 20, 2025. Claude is survived by his beloved wife, Claudette; his three children, Jason (Josie), Margueret, and Jennifer (Peter); and his brother Serge (Lucille). He was a proud grandfather to Ryan, Stephanie, Joseph, and Faith, and great-grandfather to Layne, Jude, and Chase.
Born and raised in Montreal, Claude and his children lived in Calgary in the 1970s before moving to Ottawa in 1980. He enjoyed a long career in private sector engineering firms before joining Public Works Canada as an architectural engineering project manager, the position from which he retired in 1995.
Claude cherished the many winters he and Claudette spent together in Florida, and he will be remembered by family and friends as an avid tennis player, golfer, and classical music enthusiast.
A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
