It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of Roger Lafontaine on November 27, 2025, surrounded by his loved ones at CHSLD Renaissance in Aylmer, QC at the age of 82.
He is the eldest of 6 children to the late Edgar Lafontaine and Daphne Field. He is survived by his wife Lise Comte, his daughter Sandra Lafontaine, and his 2 grandchildren, Jesse (Dave) and Kaylee (Dyllan), as well as his stepchildren Sylvie and Christian (Josée). He also leaves behind his siblings Jackie (Bob), Jean (Cathy), Ruth and Monique (late Ernie). He is predeceased by his sister Louise.
Those who knew him will remember his dry sense of humor and his generosity. In his younger years, he loved to go fishing and drag racing with his lifelong friends. Later in life, he enjoyed the quiet comforts and time spent with the people who mattered the most to him. His memory will continue in the stories and moments shared by his loved ones.
A Memorial Service will be held on Tuesday, December 9th, 2025 at 1 pm in the Sacred Space at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), followed by the burial at 2 pm and a reception in the Borden & Fleming Suites until 4:30 pm.
We wish to extend our thanks to the staff at CHSLD Renaissance for the care and kindness they extended to him.

Nos sincères condoléances à sa conjointe Lise et la famille. Nous aimions aller visiter Lise et Roger et de pouvoir échanger avec eux. Je disait toujours à Roger qu’il était un petit miracle de la vie car avec tout ce qu’il a passé au travers c’était un miracle qu’il était encore parmi nous. Il va nous manquer.
