It is with heavy hearts and deep sorrow that we announce the unexpected passing of Judy Blyth, who left us far too soon at the age of 71.
Judy lived a vibrant life, fueled by her love of international travel and the soulful sounds of blues music. She was happiest with a passport in her hand, working within new cultures, discovering hidden corners of the world, and collecting memories that she eagerly shared with those around her. Music was her constant companion—especially the blues, whose depth and emotion resonated with her adventurous and compassionate soul.
Judy was a devoted and loving mother, and she is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie and Michelle Aubut (Jennifer Rhéaume), who were the center of her world. She also leaves behind her five cherished grandchildren—Mia, Greyson, Jaxton, Riley, and Jack—each of whom brought immense joy and pride to her life.
Judy is survived as well by her brother Glenn Blyth (Suzanne), with whom she shared countless memories and a lifelong bond, and by her beloved niece and nephews—Michael, Emily, and Shawn. She is predeceased by her parents, George and Carmen Blyth, and her brother Steve, all of whom she held close in her heart.
Judy’s loss is deeply felt, but her spirit lives on in the stories she told, the music she loved, and the family she treasured.
A celebration of her life will be held by the family at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Ave, Ottawa) on January 9th, 2026 at 1pm, followed by a reception. In honor of Judy, they invite those who knew her to listen to a favorite blues tune or take a moment to appreciate the beauty of this wide world she so passionately explored.
May her journey continue with peace and endless horizons.
Our deepest sympathies to Stephanie, Michelle and all of the family. Our hearts and prayers go out to all.
