It is with great sadness that we would like to announce the passing of our beloved father/husband/son/brother, Hồ Hải Nguyễn on March 11, 2026.

Born in Sài Gòn, Việt Nam. Hồ immigrated to Canada as part of the second wave of Vietnamese Boat People. Upon arriving in Canada, he worked and studied hard to pursue higher education (B.Eng, M.Eng, M.BM, P.Eng), and had a fourty year career as an ASIC designer.

Not only was he a brilliant man, he was a devoted family man. Hồ worked hard to sponsor his mother, siblings and their families to Canada.

He is survived by Anne (Daughter), Thanh (Wife), Hệ (Mother), Sơn (Brother), Hải (Brother), Giang (Sister), Thủy (Sister), Long (Brother), Phương (Brother), and Loan (Sister).

The family funeral service and visitation will be held at Beechwood Cemetery. The family funeral service will be on March 26, 2026 at 1PM in the Sacred Space, followed by a visitation from 2-4PM.

Your presence is the only gift we need.

I first met Ho in the mid 80s in Corkstown. Not until 1996 or 97 did we meet again. Nortel was doing a "right angle turn" and everyone was doing some data related designs. Ho joined around that time and from then on, we were on the same team doing FPGA or ASIC until I left Ciena in 2018. I can always trust Ho as my teammate. He was dependable and down to earth. When Nortel declared chapter 11, Ho shared many of his financial insight with us. Ho, rest in peace. I'll miss you.
