Peacefully passed away at home at the age of 100, surrounded by family on March 31st 2026.

Cliff was born on January 7th 1926 in Manchester, England.

Cliff is now reunited with his lovely wife of 76 years, Margaret Fraser, and is survived by 3 Daughters, 5 Grandchildren, and 6 Great Grandchildren.

Cliff and Margaret met in 1941 at the Dunfermline Glen and were subsequently married in 1947 at the Abbey. Cliff most enjoyed overlooking his garden with a cheeky twinkle in his eye accompanied by his family, friends, and loyal hound, his tot of scotch, and his assortment of navy stories.

He joined the Royal Navy in 1941 and moved to the Royal Canadian Navy in 1956. He retired in 1976 and continued to work as a naval consultant.

Cliff’s family would like to thank everyone who has helped; the health services and the Beechwood Funeral Home.

My very deepest sympathy to the entire Stainfield family. Cliff was a wonderful man, full of life, love and joy. The Stainfield home was filled with warmth and laughter. I cherish the many amazing memories I have of the times I spent in the Stainfield's company. I send strength, comfort and all my love.

Miss you grandad. Many of my fondest and earliest memories are of spending time with Cliff and Maggie at their house, and on the base. Cliffie, you were an awesome man. Love you.

My earliest and fondest memories are of my times with Cliff and Maggie at Bermuda Ave. Cliff was a fantastic grandad, and was always cheery and joyful, even when he pretended to be cranky. No one has ever enjoyed stirring a pot more and boy was he good at it :)

Miss you and love you Grandad. Im blessed you got to know my kids and be in their lives

Our very sincere condolences to all the family on Cliff’s passing.
What a life he has lived and what a personality he had that he shared with us all. From the first time I met him he was forever in my heart. We have lived at a distance for many years but never a Christmas or Birthday went by where we didn’t call and reminisce over a story or a joke that needed to be retold.
There are some many more stories to be told but know that Cliff will be sadly missed but never ever forgotten.
With lots of love and remembrance from us all.
Christine Miller and family
I am sure John was at the right place to meet Cliff on his arrival.
