Doing it his way, Sam passed away peacefully on February 8, 2025. Born in Ottawa, Sam is predeceased by his wife, Dolores, parents Rose (Périard) and Rene, sisters Therese, Denise Sinnett, brothers Roland and Marcel. He is survived by his son John (Lori), daughter Shannon (Marc), grandchildren Danika (John), Dillon (Hannah), Jeniece, great granddaughters Cali and Ella, sisters Rita Bartlow and Helen Luffman and many nieces, nephews and greats.

He was affectionately known as Albert as a child, John to his siblings and Sam once he joined the ranks of the Canadian Air Force and into his final career in Protective Services in the House of Commons. Sam was a man of many talents, passions and most importantly his humour, known for his quick wit and endless jokes. His infectious laughter and light hearted nature was as much a part of him as his deep love for his family. He lived life to the fullest, enjoying sports of all seasons - hockey, broom ball, curling, baseball and of course, golf. A competitive man, he played every sport as if it was for the gold medal.

In lieu of flowers, a donation to your local food bank would be appreciated.

A private service will be held at a later date at the National Military Cemetery.

Uncle John was always a character. Family gatherings were so much fun when the Renaud boys were together.
The boys will be together again! R.I.P Fishface. 💜💜

That’s what he always called me. What a great uncle he was. A real beauty. I will definitely miss him. Rip uncle Johny.
