It is with deep sadness the family announces the passing of Derek Ian Bright in his 84th year. Derek passed away on January 31, 2026, after a lengthy illness with his loving family by his side. He is predeceased by his dear parents Margaret and Roy Bright; and his brother David; and his sister Mary.
Derek is survived by his beloved and loving wife Beth Bright. Also left to mourn are his cherished children Tracy Gordon (Dean) , Kerry Scott (John), Shannon, and David; and his brother Peter (Cathy). He also leaves behind his precious grandchildren Alexander (Laurie), Rachel (Paul), Siobhan, Chloe, Brendan, Ella, and Samantha.
He will be missed by former members and friends of the Highlands Golf Club and Ottawa Hunt and Golf Club.
As per Derek's wishes, there will be no funeral.
