It is with deep sorrow that we announce the passing of Ekaterini, in Ottawa on Wednesday, February 11, 2026, at the age of 90.
Predeceased by her husband Emmanouil Sistakis. Beloved mother of Helen (Bill Emmett), Tony and the late Mattheos. Cherished grandmother of Allysha and Matthew (Stephanie) and loving great-grandmother of Emmanuel and Hailey. She will also be sadly missed by her siblings, cousins, nieces and nephews in both Canada and in Greece.
Born in Greece, she carried the strength and traditions of her home throughout her life. Her home was always filled with warmth and unconditional love. She was the foundation of her family.
Her legacy lives on in the traditions she preserved, the values she instilled, and the love she gave.
Family and friends are invited to The Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church (1315 Prince of Wales Drive in Ottawa, ON), for a Visitation on Tuesday, February 24th, 2026, from 10 a.m. until the time of the Funeral at 11 a.m. A private family interment to follow. For those who wish to make a donation in her memory, please consider doing so towards The Dormition of the Virgin Mary Greek Orthodox Church.

I just read your eloquently written obituary of your Mom. Although I did not know her, it sounds like she was a much loved, incredible woman. I cannot express enough how sorry I am to learn of your loss and please accept my heartfelt condolences to you and your family. I've been thinking of you all week since your initial annoucement.
