It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Georgiana Myers, the beloved wife of Anthony Luckman, cherished mother to Lil-Marie “Lily”(Alfred Vassell), and proud grandmother to Daniel and Claire. Dear stepmother to Jason Luckman (Stacy) and Dominic Luckman and their children. Dearest sister to Chester (Anna), George, Harriet, and Gigi and cherished aunt to many nieces, nephews, cousins in Ontario, the United States, and Jamaica.

Starting at the beginning of the 1970s Georgiana spent 17 years at the Jamaica Telephone Company in administrative roles advancing through her strong work ethic and various professional development courses to the role of Confidential Secretary in the Data Processing Department. In 1990 she moved from Jamaica to Ottawa and quickly found a role at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario as a valued Administrative Assistant in the Outpatient Psychiatry Department until retirement in 2018.

Georgiana was a self-starter, life-long learner, avid knitter, and gardener.  Generous and kind to all.  She valued education and believed everyone had a right and the ability to reach their full potential.  She was devoted to her grandchildren and was always excited to see them pursue their interests.

Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday December 17, 2025 at the Sacred Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa after 12 noon. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm followed by a reception. Those unable to attend the Memorial Service in person are invited join via livestream.

In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa Mission or the Ottawa Hospital Foundation (Cancer Research)

Aunt Georgie will be greatly missed. She was one of my mom’s best friends, and they could talk for hours on the phone. Aunt Georgie always took a genuine interest in what was happening in our lives. We will carry all of our memories of her in our hearts, and we know she is now an angel with God.

To the Family and friends of Dear Georgiana, my family and I send love and our sincere condolences. Thanks for the opportunity to join (via this livestream) in celebrating Georgiana’s life. I knew Georgiana from Immaculate Conception High School (ICHS) in Jamaica, and later met her dear Grandma, her brother Chester, young Lil-Marie, Georgia's Uncle Dada and cousin Cherry. After moving to North America, in our phone conversations over the years, it was admirable to know how Georgia, as I sometimes referred to her, made such a comfortable, successful and well-lived life for herself, and contributed kindly to the lives of others in loving ways. This beautiful memorial attests to that. May her soul be in perfect peace with Divine Creator, and may her dearest ones be strengthened and comforted. Many blessings, and Peace to all. 🙏🏾🕊️❤️
