It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Indiana Lopez, in Ottawa, on Tuesday, February 17, 2026, at the age of 50. Indiana was a beloved mother to Jayna Paquette, who was the light of her life and her greatest joy. Cherished sister of Flavio and Harry Lopez. Loving daughter of Flavio Humberto Lopez Somarriba and Luisa Maria Gonzalez Hidalgo.
She will be deeply missed by so many, including her cousin, Karina Torres, as well as her many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and close friends. She shared a special bond with each of them, offering kindness, laughter, wisdom, and unconditional love. Her warmth touched everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.
Family and friends are invited to attend Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), on Thursday, February 26, 2026, for a Visitation from 11:00 to 1:00 p.m. followed by an interment at Beechwood Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to the Canadian Cancer Society.

Dearest Indy,
My heart was absolutely broken yesterday when I received the sad news. Nothing truly prepares you for moments like this. You were far too young to be moving forward on life’s continuing journey. Your light made the world more beautiful for everyone who knew you and your resilience of being a hard working devoted mom was clearly seen and felt by all.
I think back to our hygiene days and it always makes me smile. Clinic days, the hard work, and of course all the chaos of that program. What got us through was the friendships we made, all our studying, dinners together and of course lots of laughter, that was the secret!!
Indy you had a way of making the tough moments feel lighter. I will always cherish those times with you.
My thoughts and prayers are with your parents, your brothers and sweet Jayna. I know she will grow up knowing how much her mom loved her and that her mother’s strength and kindness will always be a part of her.
I know there will come a day when we will see each other once again.
Rest easy my soul sister. Love you to the purple star!! 💜✨
Xx Tracy

My dearest cousin, may God forever hold you in his grace, I leave you with this poem that made me think of you, until we meet again ❤️.
May the road rise up to meet you.
May the wind be always at your back.
May the sun shine warm upon your face;
the rains fall soft upon your fields and until we meet again,
may God hold you in the palm of His hand. 🤍
