It is with profound love and sadness that we announce the passing of Lorraine McNally (nee Holden), a devoted wife, loving mother, aunt, and cherished friend. Lorraine passed away on January 10th at the age of 69. To know her was to love her. She always thought of others before herself. Known for her kindness, sense of humour, and generosity, she touched the lives of all those she met. Lorraine had a deep love for her Scottish heritage, her family, nature, and knitting. Her warmth and compassion will always be remembered.
Lorraine is survived by her loving husband Wayne, her twin daughters Alanna and Erica, her sister Lynn, and brother Al. She was predeceased by her parents Ray and Francis Holden.
We are forever grateful for the loving memories she has left us with. She passed away peacefully at the Ottawa Hospital surrounded by family.
A memorial service will be held for her immediate family and close friends at a later date.
For those wishing, donations can be made to the Ottawa Cancer Society.

I am so deeply sorry. I was heartbroken to hear about Lorraine. I keep thinking about who she was—bubbly, very chatty, curious, always laughing. She had this way of filling a room and making people feel welcome. One of my clearest memories is from Christmas when I was a kid—her giving me a kiss and me wiping the lipstick off my cheek. It’s such a small moment, but it says everything about her: warm, playful, full of life.

From all the comments that we have read they describe Lorraine as the wonderful person that she was. If you needed a friend she was the one you could always count on. We will miss her caring nature her warm hugs and most of all we will miss her. She has left too soon but hope one day we will meet again.
Love to the McNally family XOXO

Wayne, Alanna and Erica, Michael and I were so sad to hear of Lorraine’s passing. Lorraine always had a smile on her face, was very kind and loving. I’ll always remember how much fun we had on our girls’ weekends at Diane’s cottage. She will be missed. Our sincere condolences to the three of you. Bon courage!

It is with a very heavy heart that I share how deeply saddened I am by Lorraine's passing.
Our friendship began many years ago when we worked together. From the beginning, I knew she was someone who would remain in my life.
Lorraine was a compassionate, thoughtful, and loving person who brought warmth to everyone around her. I will always be grateful for how kindly she welcomed me into her family, making me feel included and loved.
I cherish the memories we shared - from birthdays celebrated with family and friends to our knitting gatherings and our treasured weekly conversations.
Sending you all my love.

If there was a book about the most loving mothers and most cherished friends, my mom would have been on the front cover. It is unfathomable that she is gone. We are very grateful for the time spent together and for the love and kindness she gave us. Thank you all for the lovely comments and memories. My mom loved each and every one of you very much.
So sorry for the loss of your mother. Lorraine was such a truly lovely person. The world is not as bright without her.
