Marion grew up in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan. After graduating with a B.Sc. in Chemistry from the University of Saskatchewan, she married a naval officer and embarked on a life of travel, supporting her husband as they raised four children. Marion had many interests, from her various volunteer commitments to sailing to world events. In 1983 she graduated from Dalhousie University with a Master’s in Economics, a subject she also taught for a number of years. In her leisure time, Marion could usually be found reading a good mystery.
The family thanks the staff of the Colonel By Retirement Residence and Bayshore Home Care Solutions for their loving care in the last years and weeks of her life.
The funeral at Canada’s National Military Cemetery, at Beechwood Cemetery, Funeral and Cremation Services in Ottawa, will be held on January 28, 2026, at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation of Canada or to the charity of your choice.
