It is with a deep sorrow and love that we announce the passing of Ralph Keefe in his 90th year, on August 14, 2025 surrounded by his family.
Beloved husband of Phyllis, cherished father of Derrick (Jennifer Dawson), Melissa (Sam Vejvoda), proud grandfather of Hannah (Quentin) , Dylan, Sarah, and Benjamin, and adored great-grandfather of Rosie. Ralph was the heart of our family—steadfast, kind, and deeply devoted to those he loved. His grand children always bragged to their friends that their papa could fix anything.
Ralph served his country with honor and distinction for 35 years in the Canadian Air Force. His dedication, discipline, and sense of duty were an inspiration, not only to his comrades but also to the generations of family he guided with wisdom and grace. Whether in uniform or at home, he led by example—always with integrity and quiet strength.
Ralph enjoyed life by spending time with his family and friends. He enjoyed golfing, traveling, his beloved chocolate labs, and working on projects that involved his “fix it” skills. He had a passion for music, dancing and always relished a sweet treat. His witty humour will be greatly missed.
The family will received condolences as of 1 p.m. on August 29 at Beechwood National Memorial Centre (280 Beechwood Avenue, Ottawa), followed by a funeral service at 2 p.m. and the interment at 3 p.m. in the National Military Cemetery. Those unable to attend the funeral service in person, may attend virtually via live stream, by way of the following link: https://fweb.tv/227234
In ieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Mission, or The May Court Hospice in Ralph’s memory.

Dear Phyllis & family
My condolences to you & your family, though I never met you, Ed & I knew Ralph since 1960, when we were in Germany, Ed & Ralph worked together. We have met him off & on through the years & finally in Ottawa, through golf & when Ed was very ill. Ralph was a good man, I'm sure he'll be missed by you & your family. Hold on to your memories, especially in this very difficult time.

Dearest Phyllis and beloved family of Ralph,
We are deeply saddened to hear of your loss. Ralph will be forever missed, yet always in your hearts. We like to think that Ralph is already working in his heavenly workshop — tightening a few loose halos and oiling the pearly gates, pausing now and then to look down and send his love. Please know that you are in our thoughts during this difficult time, and that we are holding you close in spirit.

My deepest sympathies to all the KEEFE families on Ralph’s passing. He was a friend ,a jokester , a lover of true music, especially of the “down east”variety. He has a knack for accepting life as it came to him and was able to give others the benefit of the doubt in discussion where agreement was not necessarily a given, while holding true to his beliefs. We shall miss him.
