Gilles Montpetit, 66, a beloved father, grandfather and friend passed away peacefully, surrounded by family, after a long battle with illnesses on November 4, 2025.
He is survived by his children: Karyne (Nathan) and Yanick (Jenna). He will be deeply missed by his little buddies (grandsons): Liam, Theo and Mylo.
Thank you to the staff of the Ottawa General Hospital for making his next journey a peaceful one.
Family and friends will be welcomed to a Celebration of life Friday November 21,2025, at 10:00am - 1:00pm, Eulogies to take place at 10:30am
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.

I am extremely saddened in the passing of Gilles Montpetit. I considered myself truly blessed to have been able to meet both Gilles and Karl on a cruise ship in Hawaii. Such a beautiful couple. Gilles was a very kind-hearted, special, remarkable and simply delightful person. A singularly amazing individual. You will be sorely missed, dear friend. “Now cracks a noble heart.
