Beverly Denaise Brown passed away peacefully on November 19, 2025, leaving behind a legacy of strength, warmth, and quiet grace. Beverly was the kind of woman who made people feel welcome the moment they stepped into her presence. She led with kindness, spoke from the heart, and carried her family through many of life's storms with steady hands and a spirit that never wavered.
Beverly was a beloved daughter, sister and aunt who all carry a piece of her in the stories they tell, the values she shared, and the love she poured into every relationship. Family meant everything to her. She showed up for birthdays, holidays, quick phone calls, and long conversations that stretched late into the night. She gave without expecting anything in return, and people naturally gravitated toward her steady presence.
Beverly will also be deeply missed by her coworkers and union members, who knew her as a dependable voice of support and a calm problem solver. She took pride in being there for others, whether it was helping a colleague or stepping up when her community needed her. Beyond her work, Beverly loved to volunteer. She gave her time freely, always looking for ways to lift others up and make a positive impact.
She had a soft laugh that made people smile and a straight-talking honesty that kept everyone grounded. She appreciated simple moments, celebrated the small wins, and reminded others to slow down and breathe. Her wisdom was lived, not performed, and those around her felt it.
The visitation will take place at Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery and Cremation Services, located at 280 Beechwood Avenue in Ottawa, on Friday, December 12, 2025, from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. A Celebration of Life service will follow in Beechwood’s Sacred Space from 2 p.m. to 3 p.m. A Reception will be held afterward from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m.
Friends, loved ones, colleagues, and community members are invited to come together to honor Beverly and celebrate the beautiful life she lived.

Bev! I've been putting off writing something here because if I did it would mean that it is real. I still can't believe you are gone. You! So full of life, joy and merriment. You who are always to soul of everywhere you go. You are going to leave a massive void in many many people's lives. We will miss you dearly! Rest in perfect peace! Until we meet again!

Bev, we saw each other at a sad event last Christmas .. it was lovely seeing you after so many years. When we said our goodbyes, who would have thought it would be the last time. I know you are in joy now .. in the glory of the All Mighty .. live in that joy, come visit some time. You will be greatly missed. My condolences to her family and friends - may Bev's memory live on.

Dear Bev, how i will miss you — your smile, your genuineness, your serenity, our deep conversations about life and spirituality. May this new journey of yours be filled with tranquility, love, dancing, peace and that your soul continues moving through the rhythm of music. xx

"Bev, I am going to miss our long talks more than anything. Who else would I share the joy of eating ice with? It was our calm, shared secret!
I’ll always remember the Caribana nights, hanging out by Lester’s, and knowing exactly where the 'lime' was happening. Your beautiful, high-pitched laugh when you found something truly funny was the best sound.
You had the most beautiful spirit, Queen. And just know, I'll still be looking through old photos trying to find one where your eyes are open! You made life brighter. Rest peacefully, my dear friend.

I have so much respect for the entire Brown family that I had to come to pay my respect to one of its strongest pillars: Miss Bev Brown. Traveling from N.Y was a blessing because I was able re-meet Sister Bev, vicariously, through all of the insightful testimonies from colleagues, friends and family. This was a Celebration of Life with a theme of blue that has a doubled meaning because while Bev left our hearts blue from the ultimate deprivation of her bodily presence in our everyday walk and talk, we also envision her finally taking that well-deserved cruise upon the Celestial Ocean Blue, somewhere beyond the Upper Horizon, within the Great By and By. I'll always remember Sister Bev's spirit upon the unique backdrop of Trinidad's steel pan melodies and the contribution of her community activism. Rest in Power Queen.
