It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Georgiana Myers, the beloved wife of Anthony Luckman, cherished mother to Lil-Marie “Lily”(Alfred Vassell), and proud grandmother to Daniel and Claire. Dear stepmother to Jason Luckman (Stacy) and Dominic Luckman and their children. Dearest sister to Chester (Anna), George, Harriet, and Gigi and cherished aunt to many nieces, nephews, cousins in Ontario, the United States, and Jamaica.
Starting at the beginning of the 1970s Georgiana spent 17 years at the Jamaica Telephone Company in administrative roles advancing through her strong work ethic and various professional development courses to the role of Confidential Secretary in the Data Processing Department. In 1990 she moved from Jamaica to Ottawa and quickly found a role at the Children’s Hospital of Eastern Ontario as a valued Administrative Assistant in the Outpatient Psychiatry Department until retirement in 2018.
Georgiana was a self-starter, life-long learner, avid knitter, and gardener. Generous and kind to all. She valued education and believed everyone had a right and the ability to reach their full potential. She was devoted to her grandchildren and was always excited to see them pursue their interests.
Family and friends are invited to gather on Wednesday December 17, 2025 at the Sacred Space of the Beechwood National Memorial Centre, 280 Beechwood Ave. Ottawa after 12 noon. Memorial Service will be held at 1:00pm followed by a reception. Those unable to attend the Memorial Service in person are invited join via livestream.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Ottawa Mission or the Ottawa Hospital Foundation (Cancer Research)

We are so sorry for your loss. Georgiana was an amazing mother to Lil and a wonderful grandmother.
I will always remember that big beautiful smile she always had on her face no matter what!
She will be greatly missed but never forgotten for we will see her again one day very soon.

My condolences to the family. Sending thoughts and prayers.
I had the honour of meeting Georgie through my mother, who worked alongside her at CHEO. She was a truly beautiful and compassionate individual, always taking the time to inquire about my family and my son. Her absence will be profoundly felt, and Heaven is fortunate to welcome her. Until we meet again, rest in peace, my friend. 💜

Lil Marie, Judy and I send our love and prayers for you and the family. I will cherish the memories I have of our times with Georgia in Jamaica.
Ms. Myers, you are a beacon to a mariner lost at sea, gently guiding him to shore.
Watching over him and his vessel through the night and sending him back out sea.
You will always be my light.
