It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Andrew Bolyea on 02 February, 2026, at the age of 48.
Born on February 22, 1977 in Toronto, Andrew was passionate about life and enjoyed many pursuits, including cooking, traveling, and sailing. He is mourned by his loving wife, Paula, and son Henry. He will be dearly missed by his mother Alie Bolyea (nee Bergwerff), his father, Paul Bolyea and step-mother Karen Fisher Deel. He will be fondly remembered by his parents-in-law, Ray and Marlene Toovey, step-siblings Lauren and Jeffrey (Lindy) and nephew Jack, brothers-in-law, Raymond and Eric Toovey, as well as many aunts, uncles, cousins, friends and colleagues.
We extend our sincere gratitude to the doctors, nurses and staff of the Ottawa General Hospital Cancer Center and the Maison de l’Est Hospice for their dedication, support and kindness in treating and caring for Andrew.

I mourn the loss of a man whose humour, strength of character, and calm intelligence were both an example and a support to those of us fortunate enough to know him. At different times Andrew and I debated the Dutch Renaissance, French grammar, Halloween pranks and a dozen other topics, and always ended laughing together.
He was the best of men.
To Paula and Henry and the family, my heartfelt condolences.

Andrew was a caring and thoughtful man. He had a drive and dedication that I continued to admire from the day we met decades ago through work. What comes to me on hearingof his passing is the love for Paula & Henry that shone in each conversation i’m now even more grateful to have shared with this wonderful human being. My deepest condolences.
I am saddened to hear about Andrew’s passing. There are no words when hearts feel so much. Thinking of you and your family during this difficult time.
With deepest sympathy.
